Samsung and nannying bloatware

Samsung (and some other brands) in their all-seeing wisdom has decided much like other major providers of software products, that we are a meance to ourselves and need nannying, whilst all the while harvesting our data, images and video to feed the AI models that now dominate our lives (with mostly incorrect answers to the most mundane questions). Anyway, the upshot of this is on Samsung devices (and others), you might find a pre-installed bloat that blocks other 3rd party apps. Sometimes that includes 2ndNumber apps.

If your 2ndnumber app just hangs on startup, try these tips:

  1. Check there is no is no "safety app" app running. On Samsung, it's called "Auto Blocker"- so open it up and check 2ndNumber is allowed.

  2. Sometimes we do a large update to the app and it does require an uninstall and then reinstall from the Play Store link here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.second.numbertel&hl=en

  3. Sometimes going into Android app settings > 2ndNumber > "Force Stop" or "Force Quit" can help. Then open the app again.

  4. Finally, try restarting the phone - this can often clear out gremlins.
